More Than Twice & Budding Grass: Two Poems by CG

The reefs are dying,
Glaciers melting,
Temperatures are rising,
Yet cars keep driving,
Over tilling,
Soil gone,
Vanishing life
Moves us along,
Our air is sick,
Our animals sicker,
Our greatest fear
is a nuclear winner
So when confronted
with fire and ice,
I think it needs to be considered
More than twice

*************************

Buds pale green,
seeds a flower
someday it will wilt,
today it towers,
Hundreds of lives to be,
held almost protectively,
picked and gone
beyond this hour,
yet tomorrow hundreds more will tower.
